By using Greek Deacon ("the App"), you agree to the following terms. If you do not agree, please discontinue use.

1. Use of the App

Greek Deacon is provided as-is for personal, non-commercial use. The dictionary content is for educational purposes and may contain inaccuracies. We do not guarantee completeness or correctness of any linguistic data.

2. User-Generated Content (Comments)

            Important: Greek Deacon includes a community comment feature that allows users to post comments on words. All comments are user-generated. We do not pre-screen, endorse, or take responsibility for any content posted by users. The views expressed in comments are solely those of the individual authors and do not represent the views of Greek Deacon or its developers. We reserve the right to remove any content at our sole discretion, but we are under no obligation to do so.
        

By posting a comment, you agree that:

You will not post content that is offensive, defamatory, abusive, or otherwise objectionable.
You will not post spam, advertisements, or misleading information.
You grant Greek Deacon a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to display your comments within the App.
You are solely responsible for the content you post.

3. Intellectual Property

All app design, code, and original content are the property of Greek Deacon. Dictionary data is sourced from publicly available linguistic resources.

4. Privacy

Your privacy is important to us. Please refer to our Privacy Policy for full details on how we collect, use, and protect your data.

5. Disclaimer of Warranties

The App is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We are not liable for any damages arising from use of the App, including but not limited to reliance on dictionary content or user-generated comments.

6. Changes to Terms

We may update these terms at any time. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the new terms.

Privacy Policy

Greek Deacon ("the App") is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights.

1. Data We Collect

We collect the minimum data necessary to provide the App's features:

Apple User Identifier: When you sign in with Apple, we receive an anonymous, app-specific user identifier. We do not receive your real name, email address, or Apple ID.
Nickname: The display name you choose for the comment feature.
Comments: The text content you post, along with the associated word and timestamp.
Favorites and History: Your favorited words and browsing history are stored locally on your device only.

2. Data We Do Not Collect

We do not collect your real name, email address, phone number, or location.
We do not use any third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking services.
We do not track your usage behavior or browsing patterns.

3. How We Use Your Data

Your Apple User Identifier and nickname are used solely to attribute comments you post. Comments are stored in Apple's CloudKit infrastructure and are visible to all users of the App.

4. Data Storage and Security

All server-side data (comments) is stored in Apple's CloudKit, which provides encryption in transit and at rest. Local data (favorites, history, settings) is stored on your device using standard iOS storage mechanisms.

5. Data Retention and Deletion

You can delete your individual comments at any time by swiping on them in the App. If you sign out, your user identifier is disassociated from the App. To request full deletion of all your data, contact us at b@alpugan.com.

6. Children's Privacy

The App is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children. If you believe a child has provided us with data, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

7. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be reflected on this page with an updated date. Continued use of the App constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
